As a psychometrist, I have a special interest in testing and assessment in its various forms. As required by the ethical code of the Health Professions Council of South Africa, I work under supervision of a registered educational psychologist. You can access my supervisor's details here.
Parents and learners
I administer educational and psychological assessments, both individually or in groups. I follow a holistic and integrated approach to assessment. This simply means I do not believe in relying solely on pen-and-paper assessments. I view you as the expert in your life, and myself as a facilitator working with you. I consider your context, including your language abnd cultural background, as unique and important. In our first sessions, we will decide together:
whether an assessment is the best choice for you
which assessment suits your needs best
which mode/s of assessment suits your needs best

It is important for me to ensure that your (or your child's) performance in an assessment is not unduly influenced by a lack of fluency in the language in which the assessment is conducted.
I administer assessments in Afrikaans or English. Should you require an assessment to be done in another language, we will discuss the risks and benefits of using a translator, interpreter or I will put you in touch with another service provider.
